Manure spreader
The times where the manure had to be applied manually and laboriously on the arable land are now over, thanks to the manure spreader. The manure spreader is a precious tool, with which both compost and solid manure, as well as mushroom compost can be distributed on arable land. In the process, said substances can be transported without effort, as manure spreaders are a special form of a trailer. This is suitable for drives on arable land as well as for road traffic.
The spreading of the manure occurs very regularly by means of the special structure of the manure spreader: at first the filled material is dispatched over a scraper floor to the other end of the spreader, in the so-called scattering unit. There, the solid manure is evenly disintegrated by means of movable knife edges, and finally distributed on the respective target soils via vertically or horizontally (standing or lying) fitted scattering rollers or spreading discs.
Standing scattering rollers, among other things, are suitable for spreading small amounts of manure on bigger surfaces. According to experience, standing rollers are well suited for meadows. On the other hand, lying scattering rollers, for example, are especially suitable for the spreading of big quantities of manure on smaller surfaces.
The scattering range is variable irrespective of the orientation of the scattering rollers and spreading discs, and can be extended to up to 20m for spreading discs. The spreading discs and scattering rollers are powered either by the PTO of the towing vehicle, the floor drive or a hydraulic motor on the scraper floor.
Due to their effective working operations in agricultural holdings, which, among other things, have specialised themselves in livestock farming, manure spreaders have become indispensable. The invention of this working tool can be traced back to the 1950s. For the first time, the spreading of manure on arable lands could take place in short amounts of time, which made the work significantly easier. At first, many manure spreaders were pulled by draught animals. The modern machines, however, are almost exclusively prompted by towing vehicles.
The term "dung spreader" is used as a synonym for the manure spreader. Dung or manure spreaders can be used for bigger as well as smaller surfaces. Thus, for example, smaller manure spreaders can be employed for gardening. Here, among other things, they are used to officiate as a mixing machine for the mixture of aggregates. So-called large capacity spreaders are best suited for large-scale dung surfaces. The offers for different manure spreaders are accordingly diverse.
It is often worthwhile to consider the purchase of a second-hand machine as a cost-saving investment. Used manure spreaders are provided amongst others by Veenhuis, Kotte, Joskin, Fliegl, Meprozet, Zunhammer and BSA. You can find affordable used manure spreaders on the present pages.
